Acquiring the package:

Download the archive file(s) and extract using SparkPlug 2
(see the "tools_help" file in micros/arch/riscos/tools for further info).
Merge the two !Xenakis16 directories (by dragging one to the other).


Description:

Xenakis16 is a demo of the first 16 bit - CD quality sample sequencer / player
for the RiscPC (or any Acorn machine using a 16bit sound card and Acorn's
Sound DMA module v1.45 or later).  Features include:
* 16/8 bit sample playback at 44.1 kHz as standard  (CD Quality)
* 8 Channels as standard (4 - optional)
* 100Hz resolution on effects/ event playback
* Maximum sample size of 2.62*10^5 Gb for 16/8 bits (ie practically infinite)
* 8 Octave range over all channels for any sample allowing for immense
  flexibility during composition
* 256 steps in a complete octave tuning of any sample
* 256 samples per song from sample base of up to 2002 samples
* max. of 256 patterns and 256 sequences in a song
* 24 lines of pattern data displayed at any one time - facilitating editing
  and auditioning of songs.
* Sequence display and real-time stereo vu-meters.
* Extensive hot-key use for fast and efficient editing for experienced users
  as well as full graphical front-end and use of mouse for novices.
* Sample display with zoom facilities for loop-point setting and editing
  (in forthcoming releases).
* Supplied with 8- and 16-bit demo tracks and sample base (demo version
  allows songs to be saved and edited - however, no alterations can be made to
  the sample base)
* File format is backwardly compatible with the old !Coconizer file format
