Description: PDTracker is an advanced desktop music player application which uses CD player like controls. It allows the playing of ProTracker/SoundTracker, Tracker, Coconizer, Digital Symphony, Desktop Tracker, matrixTRK (which plays ScreamTracker files after conversion) *and* audio CD tracks (in a CD-ROM drive), all using the same easy to use controls. What's more it also allows multi-play (continue and shuffle modes) of an unlimited number of tracks whose formats can be freely mixed, and this includes freely mixing sound trackers and audio CD tracks. PDTracker was the first ever multi-format player to be released, and has been around since 1991. *BEWARE IMMITATIONS*. Features list ============= With PDTracker, you can: * play ProTrackers/SoundTrackers, Trackers, Coconizers, Digital Symphonies and Desktop Trackers * play audio CD tracks using a CD-ROM drive * keep a simple database of recognised CDs, and will show the correct track name if the CD being played is in the database * use the CD player like controls for play, pause, stop, rewind, forward, skip etc. * have multi-play of an unlimited number of mixed-format tracks in either continue or shuffle mode * skip to any track at any time by entering the number & pressing OK * repeat a particular track, infinitely * turn on "intro scan" which just plays the first sequence of each track, then fades it out * alter the playback volume with the slider bar * turn on/off and alter the stereo positions of all 8 channels * get information on samples such as name, length, volume * save the samples off to disc in raw logarithmic format * have multiple "setup files" containing lists of tracks to use in continue or shuffle mode * automatically scan a disc or directory for tracks and save the resulting setup file * choose/search for a track by name from a scrolling "track list" window * view 4-channel VU Bars in a desktop window for all track formats * use a fixed block of RMA (or a Dynamic Area on the Risc PC) for tracks to stop RMA fragmentation * choose yourself which player module is used for which filetype, or use the built-in auto-filetype detector * key shortcuts (now even more) * use the balance control slider * enter a track number in the "Goto" submenu to go straight to it * enter a track number in the "Next" submenu to go to it after the current track And new to this release: * you can play matrixTRKs (and ScreamTrackers after conversion) * new CD manager program for entering and editing CD track names * multi-lingual version with France, Germany and UK support * revised logic so it's more like a real CD player * re-structured menus * many more choices in improved choices windows * on/off buttons in track list window, which show if a track has been played, and allow tracks to be manually turned on or off * setup file sort option * Ctrl-drag a file to PDTracker and you can choose the player to use * enter a sequence number in the "Jump to" submenu to jump straight to it * new "MiniBar" utility to save space on the desktop StrongHelp ========== PDTracker features a StrongHelp manual (in both German and English), so you will need to download a copy of StrongHelp (package d126) if you don't already have it (version 2.02 required).
