
          
          (Re)compiling MakeIndex 2.12 [Arc 1.0]
          


Simply run amu with a target of "all" to make the binary.
Running amu with a target of "install" should do the above
and also place the binary in its correct position, with
appropriate access and type.  But just make sure that
!MakeIndex has been seen, i.e. !MakeIndex.!Boot has been run
at some point in the past.  

NOTE:

    If you do not have the DDEUtils module you
    will need to change the definition of INSTALL
    in the make file to use the CSD symbol (@),
    rather than <Prefix$Dir>, and ensure that your
    CSD is !MakeIndex.Source.

If you want to test the (re)compiled MakeIndex, there is a
suit of tests in the directory !MakeIndex.Source.Tests.

If it just won't work, even with your best endeavours, then
contact me (address below) with a detailed and accurate
description of the problem and I'll try to solve it. 
There's nothing worse than a Makefile that just doesn't
make.
