To process test.tex:

  - Delete the file mtest.ps (if it exists)
  - Run the file test.tex throught TeX
  - Run the resultant test.dvi through dvips
  - Move the file ps in the directory test to mtest
  - Rerun dvips on test.dvi.

The file test.correct is what test.ps should turn out like.
If it doesn't turn out right at all then there could well be
a problem with your PostScript header (lpro) files. If the
accented Adobe PostScript font characters have not come out
quite right then you probably have a problem with your
virtual font (VF) files, and their corresponding metric
(TFM) files. Try to replace them with the complete set that
come with dvips 5.55. These should be available in an
archive with the name PSFonts, or something similar.
