The enclosed discs contain an archived copy of the RISC OS 3.6 !Boot hierarchy, and associated applications which can be uncompressed and installed on the boot hard disc (usually ADFS::4). The original !Boot, Apps, Diversions, Printing and Utilities should be removed and replaced with the copies on these discs. If you have any applications such as Datapower which use an install/credits protection system these should be de-installed before upgrading to RISC OS 3.6. To decompress the archive and upgrade the boot sequence and applications, follow the procedure below: Create a new directory on the boot hard disc called Old. Move the original !Boot, Apps, Diversions, Printing and Utilities directories into the Old directory. Create a new directory on the boot hard disc, called Upgrade. Copy the entire contents of the floppy discs into the Upgrade directory. Double-click on the copies of !Scrap and !System which are stored inside the Upgrade directory. Double-click on the copy of !SparkPlug stored inside the Upgrade directory. Drag the "Part1" icon to the !SparkPlug icon on the icon bar; drag the contents of the "Part1/" directory window to the root directory on the boot hard disc. Repeat the above step with the "Part2" icon. Reboot the machine. After you are happy that the new system is functioning correctly you may delete the contents of the Upgrade and Old directories. eof.
