23/02/95 * Welcome to another Customer Hotline column. In case you have missed the first three, the aim of this column is to inform you of the latest happenings in Customer Support at Acorn. * Two application notes this month, both to do with running old software on the Archimedes range. The first ("6502 to ARM", document number 0310063) looks at the issues involved in porting software for Acorn's 6502 based microcomputers onto the Archimedes range of microcomputers. It covers matters such as legality of porting, evaluation of portability, transfer of software and resources available to assist the porting. The second ("Archimedes 6502 Emulation", document number 0340011) addresses the problems involved in running software under the various 6502 emulators available and covers such things as directly addressing the screen, emulating the Disc Filing System under the Advanced Disc Filing system and using operating system routines. Both application notes are available on request from Customer Support as usual. * Just a reminder about writing to Customer Support. To ensure the mail reaches us quicker, the proper address is "Customer Support, Acorn Computers Ltd, Acorn House, Vision Park, Histon, Cambridge, CB4 4AE".
