Word Hound v1.25 Release Notes ============================== Window Iconisation ------------------ Please note that the documentation states that under Risc OS 3 you can use the iconisation feature on Word Hound's "Enter" window when using the Impression hotlink. Due to a bug (thought to be either in Acorn's Pinboard module or the Risc OS Window manager) this is now not advised, as it can cause the computer to hang under two conditions : 1) If you try to bring the iconbar to the front of the screen (Shift-F12) 2) Entering values into some of the icons in Impression's "Edit Style" window can cause the computer to enter an infinite loop. Please note: These two ONLY happen when the "Enter" window is iconised, and is NOT due to a bug in Word Hound. Word Hound Tools Collection --------------------------- Please note that when using the tools collection, ensure that all index items are lower case, currently the tools do not force lower case index items, and Word Hound ignores any upper case index items. When creating new data suites and adding entries to the 'SetUp' file, be careful when assigning a 'Data Suite Type' number. Generally it is best to assign it a type of '0', care should be taken assigning numbers '1' and in particular '2' as this can cause the program to crash. Differences between version 1.17 and version 1.25 ------------------------------------------------- The 'Synonym Length' search (allows searches for synonyms of specified length, useful for crosswords). The return of 3D templates (for users of Risc-OS 3.1). Lots of internal changes and bug fixes. Total revamp of the documentation. Overhaul of Tools Collection (now 6 tools as opposed to 4). Makes life easier for maintaining dictionary data suites. Support for interactive help. Support for Ovation/OvationPro. NOTE: You will need a copy of ArcFS (or SparkFS) to read the files on this disc, a read only version of ArcFS is available on most magazine cover discs. A copy could not be placed on this disc due to lack of space.
